In the competitive world of contemporary gastronomy, space is as important as the menu. At L'Atelier Bogotá, we understand that interior design doesn't just welcome—it suggests, envelops, and stimulates. That's why, when the Asian restaurant Doña Elvira approached us with the challenge of renovating its space, we knew the challenge went beyond replacing chairs and tables: it was about reimagining the diner's experience.
Doña Elvira was looking for a profound transformation. Her need wasn't just aesthetic, but functional: to redefine the layout of the space, optimize the flow of service in the dining room, and create an environment more consistent with her culinary identity—a fusion of Eastern tradition and urban sensibility.
Our approach focused on versatility. We proposed a combination of sturdy group tables—designed for celebrations and family dinners—along with smaller, lighter modules that allow the space to be easily reconfigured according to the dynamics of the day.
The materials were selected to withstand the intensive use of the restaurant industry without losing their artisanal essence: fine woods treated with natural oils, highly durable hardware, and finishes that complement the dim lighting and intimate atmosphere of the space.
Today, Doña Elvira not only looks different: it feels different . The updated layout allows for greater table rotation without sacrificing comfort. The furniture invites you to linger, but also to move around; it's warm, without being stuffy; contemporary, without losing its soul.
The new spaces have improved not only the customer experience but also the operational efficiency of the front-of-house team. Each piece, though designed as a whole, maintains its unique character—just like the restaurant's offering itself.
